Big facilities need consistent light control, and this one has a lot of glass to manage. For the Prince Albert Rec Centre, Vanguard Specialty Products installed 330+ linear feet of shades across long rows of windows throughout the building, including the pool area and waterslide zone. With windows running through multiple zones, the goal was simple - control glare and heat gain while keeping day-to-day operation easy for staff.
The solution
We used hardwired motorized shades to deliver reliable performance across a high-use recreation facility. Motorization lets staff adjust large sections of glazing quickly and consistently, which is a big advantage in spaces that shift throughout the day from bright sun to busy programming.
Why hardwired motorization mattered here
Reliable power for frequent use in a busy public facility
Fast, consistent control across long runs of windows instead of adjusting shade-by-shade
Cleaner finished look with a streamlined installation that fits the building’s design
The result
Comfort control at scale - less glare, less heat load, and a smoother experience for guests and staff across the building’s most challenging zones.
