Vanguard Specialty Products recently had the opportunity to enhance the brand-new Southport Aerospace Centre facility with a comprehensive window shading solution, bringing both functionality and modern design to this cutting-edge space.

Customized Light Control for Maximum Comfort

For this project, Vanguard installed a full package of blinds, thoughtfully selected to match the diverse needs of the facility. In the meeting rooms, low-voltage motorized shades were chosen for both interior and exterior glazing, providing precise light control at the touch of a button. These motorized shades allow users to effortlessly adjust lighting levels based on the time of day or specific needs, enhancing comfort and energy efficiency.

Specialized Fabric for Optimal Performance

Throughout the common areas, Vanguard installed chain-operated roller shades featuring a premium 1% White/Pearl fabric. This specialized fabric, known for its 1% openness factor, is designed to optimize glare control and UV protection. The tighter weave blocks more direct sunlight, reducing heat buildup and protecting interiors from UV damage, while still maintaining a soft, natural indoor brightness. For comparison, a 3% openness fabric allows more natural light and clearer views but offers slightly less shading performance, making the 1% fabric a strategic choice for Southport's energy-efficient design goals.
